Best Install Practice

The installation of standalone power systems is strictly regulated. We follow all regulations and guidelines, all our staff are trained and certified to install solar power and stand alone systems through the Clean Energy Council. (CEC)

Solar panels
Solar panels and mounting system should be as close to the stand alone battery storage uni
The orientation
The orientation should be true North if practical (slightly different to Magnetic North)
Tilt angle
Tilt angle should be set to the latitude of your location. Sometimes a higher pitch angle can be better to take advantage of the lower sun position during the winter months when the number of daylight hours is reduced.
If considering a standalone power system using solar panels as the major renewable energy source, shade is to be avoided at all times. Shading will significantly reduce the output of your solar panels and could cause your batteries to fail or consistently having to use a generator to top up battery levels.

The ideal location for battery storage units is in a cool ventilated position. The perfect operating temperature for batteries is between 20 - 25 degrees Celsius keeping the batteries cool will prolong the service life of the stand alone storage solution.
In a residential premise there are new standards of wiring and protection requirements that need to be considered. Commercial scale installations need to be considered on a site by site basis.
Standalone Batteries
Stand alone batteries should be enclosed or rack mounted with adequate ventilation to ensure solar batteries and off grid inverters operate within their preferred temperature range, stand alone batteries have change a lot in design and the new charge controllers remove a lot of the concerns when it comes to standalone batteries overheating, its important for the whole stand alone solar system to be in a well ventilated space.
